The vitamin C + ferulic acid + vitamin E combination has strong clinical backing: Duke University research (Pinnell et al., 2005) demonstrated that ferulic acid doubles the photostability of ascorbic acid and vitamin E, increasing their combined photoprotective effect by 8x.
