Bentonite is a highly absorbent aluminium phyllosilicate clay with a strong negative ionic charge that draws out positively charged impurities, toxins, and excess sebum. It is widely used in face masks for deep pore cleansing. It can be drying and should be used no more than once or twice weekly on oily skin.
