Ascorbic Acid
Ascorbic acid (L-ascorbic acid) is the purest and most potent form of vitamin C used in skincare. It is a powerful antioxidant that neutralises free radicals, inhibits melanin synthesis to brighten the complexion, and stimulates collagen production. It is unstable and oxidises quickly, requiring careful formulation at a low pH.

How to Use
Best used in the AM under SPF — vitamin C boosts SPF efficacy and fights UV-induced free radicals. Effective range is 10–20%. Look for formulas with pH below 3.5 for maximum absorption. Stabilise with Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid. Can oxidise (turns orange/brown) — discard when this happens.
