Acetyl Glucosamine
Acetyl glucosamine (N-acetyl glucosamine) is a derivative of glucose and a precursor to hyaluronic acid synthesis. It has exfoliating, brightening, and hydrating properties. Studies show it effectively reduces hyperpigmentation by inhibiting glycosylation of pro-tyrosinase, and it supports skin barrier function by promoting ceramide synthesis.
